Nicholas County Health Department recognizes that better health for Nicholas County residents derives from community-based interventions with community ownership of health solutions. Health interventions have greater long-term success when implemented to focus upon social, economic, environmental and individual determinants. Nicholas County Health Department will provide support for the community in building better health outcomes through community organization, asset and needs assessment, strategic and implementation planning, program evaluation and outcomes reporting.
Nicholas County Health Department acknowledges the responsibility to manage public resources effectively and efficiently providing quality public health services to Nicholas County residents through innovation and industry best practices. In meeting this responsibility, Nicholas County Health Department will reduce agency administrative and operational expenses, improve effectiveness of public health service delivery, manage mandated workload with available financial and human resources, and build greater value around rural local public health.
